I’ve only dabbled a bit in canning. A jam here and there and a batch of salsa. But I am mad for marmalade. I have made marmalade 3 weeks in a row. I think it’s the process of learning and trying to get it down pat that has led to this obsession. To be honest, I don’t even intend to eat all of what I made, I just like making it. If this obsession doesn’t stop soon, I will be a perfect candidate for Intervention and Hoarders.by
I am happy to announce that this is my first entry to Domestic Goddess’ Sugar High Friday. I’ve been wanting to participate for awhile, but didn’t have a chance with the move and my box of important kitchen things missing. This month was hosted by Tartelette, one of my favourite food bloggers. The theme was citrus. Truth be told, I’m not much of a citrus fan. It’s too tart and sour for me. But I kept seeing citrus recipes pop up and I had a hankering for something lemony.
The smell of lemons from zesting filled our place while making the cake. While the recipe had many little steps, it was really easy to throw together. As a non-citrus fan, this cake was great. It satisfied my lemon craving and it was a nice light dessert after eating some very heavy burgers.by
